THE IMPORTANCE OF ASTROLOGY

GururBhrahma GururVishnu Gururdevo MaheswaraH:   I
Guruh: Sakshaat Parabrhmaa Thasmai Sree Guruve Namah: II

Brahma is the Guru for He is the Creator of the Vedaas which destroys our Ignorancee and Illuminate our Mind.   Vishnu is the Guru for He resides in our heart and upbrings us.    Maheswara is our Guru for he is the Pretector.   Guru is the supreme Power of Godhead Personified and I bow to him.

Astrology is attained with the help and Blessings of the  Guru .  Astrology is the Panchama Vedam.
Astrology is used to see the Past, Present and Future  and to time an event using Vimshottar Dasa.   Astrology is used for fixing Auspicious Times for Important Events like Upanayanam, Marriage, joining in a New Job,  For performing Cesarean  Operation for joining the Boy in School. etc.
Astrology is used for Predicting the health and Longevity of the Individual.  Astrology can Predict the of-come of Court Cases. Astrology can Predict whether the Boy Pass the Exam or not if so in what Rank.  Astrology can Predict which Course of Education is suitable for the Boy basing on his  Horoscope.  Astrology can Predict when he will get a Job?  Astrology can Predict whether he will win in the Elections.
Astrology can Predict the Marriage Prospects and Happiness or otherwise of Marriage.  Astrology can Match the Horoscopes of Prospective Bride and Bride Groom for a happy Married life.  Now a days it is not predictable about the longevity of Marriage , as we are hearing the Bride is coming back home and asking the father for applying a Divorce within a matter of  a few months of Marriage.  Dowry deaths is common  even in Middle class families.  And the Torturing of the Bride due to suspicion is common.   For performing  Marriage one will be spending a Minimum of 5 to 10 Lakhs and that  will be a waste if the Marriage is not a Happy one which leads to Divorce or court cases.    Hence it is better to get the Horoscopes matched perfectly by an Expert Astrologer who is Well versed in Classic Astrological Works instead of searching for a cheap substitute.

With so many Advantages of Astrology, it is better that everybody should learn at least the Basics of Vedic Astrology.   Knowing the Principles of Astrology is an asset to each and everybody.

YAGNOPAVITHAM -THE SYMBOLISM OF THE SACRED THREAD

Symbolism of the sacred thread
In Hinduism and Buddhism, a Yajñopavītam  is a thin consecreted  cord, composed of distinct cotton strands, worn to symbolize the permission given to him to do Sandhyavandanam  and  Gayatri Mantram.  The sacred Upnayanam ceremony  that invests the wearer with the sacred Yajñopavītam is often considered a socially and spiritually significant rite  or  Samskara.

The strands of the sacred thread have symbolic meaning that varies by community and region. The sacred thread has three strands. A bachelor wears only one sacred thread where as a married man wears two of them making it six strands. If the man has married and has fathered a child, he wears three, which makes it nine strands.

Three debts

The three strands sometimes symbolize three debts Runam  that must never be forgotten and should be cleared.  The debt to one's teachers (गुरु ऋण, Guru Runam )  i.e. those who have taught the wearer; the debt to one's parents and ancestors (पितृ ऋण, Pitru Runam), i.e. those who have nurtured the wearer and made possible his existence; the debt to the sages/scholars (ऋषि ऋण Rushi Runam ) , i.e. those Ancient Maharshis who discovered knowledge, both spiritual and secular, over the ages, which now enriches the wearer's life.
In some versions, the debt to God (देव ऋण, Deva Runam).is added. The God who created this Universe  and in turn the living and non living beings.
Upon marriage, sometimes the number of strands increases to six, because the man is expected to assume the debts of his wife as well

Three devis

The three strands also  symbolizes:
Devi Gayatri (गायत्री, Goddess of mind)
Devi Saraswati (सरस्वती, Goddess of word)
Devi Savitri (सवित्री, Goddess of deed)

IMPORTANCE OF MUHURTHA IN DAY TO DAY LIFE

“Time is very slow for those who wait
Very fast for those who are scared
Very long for those who lament
Very short for those who celebrate
But for those who love is eternal. - William Shakespeare

As you want to accomplish your task successfully you choose an auspicious time for starting or performing an important event/action in life. It is called Muhurtham. It is a fortified lagna based on Panchangam. It means five attributes of Hindu Calendar day that is Thithi, Vaara, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana. It predicts natural phenomena like eclipses. It involves understanding an individual’s zodiac sign.

Vedas say there are certain moments declared as auspicious and inauspicious. During the inauspicious time, our actions, if at all started, will never be fruitful.     The auspicious time is chosen for marriage, to start business, project, long journeys, to perform cesarean operation, to perform Upanayanam, for choosing a Bride (Pelli Choopulu } etc on personal side.  And on the Public Life a muhurtha is fixed for Oath taking Ceremony for ruling the Country, for laying Foundation stones for a new projects etc.

The value of time is inestimable. Nature also follows time for germination , developement and destroying of trees, and other objects in nature.   Sun rising , setting, seasons , motion of stars, planets all follow a specific pattern of time in this universe.
Time is recognised as great Kalapurusha in the Astrological Literature.
Astrology is a science which deals with Time.  We are living in a veritable Sea of vibratory energies, x-rays gamma rays and magnetic vibrations etc to name a few.
our ancient Maharshis formulated Time in Muhurthas.

Muhurthas for Planting, Cultivation, harvesting for Agricultural purpose has been elaborately mentioned by Maharshis, as food is the essence of life.
Horoscope of a person indicates the previous Karma -ie. what is one brought with him  - ie. one's inheritance,  Muhurtha on the other hand gives the proper direction to remove or neutralises the evils indicated in the Natal Birth chart prepared for the time of Birth.

Predictions using  Horoscope is Diognostic, where as Muhurtha is the prescription for preventing the evils to ensure success. If an Astrologer finds the the 5th House is  afflicted malefic influence and Jupiter the Karaka for childeren is also afflicted which may indicate loss of Children or doubtful of getting Children.  In this case muhurtha coes to his rescue, by asking him  to marry at an auspicious time fixed as per the norms of Muhurtha as the etherial currents  from the planets minimises the affliction and the Muhurtha fixed for the first night may ensure the survival of atleast a few children thus minimising the bad karma to a considerable extent.

Muhurtha tells us when to do a certain thing if failure to be avoided.  sun in the morning, Sun in the mid-day, Sun in the evening will not be the same in heat, light and magnetism, and electricity etc.  A man himself discharges different kinds of electrical energies.  Muhurtha can thus be said to be a precious moment when radiations emited by man is altered to a specific wave-length in tune with the vibratory rate coming from the Planets.
Here I would like to give a caution to the uninitiated that Should  the Radical Horoscope indicate several afflictions  strongly  which cannot be repaired by any type of remedies, then NO MUHURTHA can ensure real success.

Moon rules the mind and in the Muhurtha chart it is seen that Moon is in  dignified position. That's why in Hindu Astrology the position of the Moon at the time of Birth  called as Janma Tara is given much importance.
